Top 10 Consumer Web Products of 2011

I normally don’t like “best of x-year” lists, but this one is worth a read. I use many of these services on a daily basis, and they really make life a whole lot simpler. This list is not so much of a “it was a great year”, as it is a foretelling of what’s in store for the future of the web.

“One major theme of this year’s top 10 wascontent. We aren’t there yet, but these services are starting to figure out how to make Web content into a real economy. Another was syncing, which goes along with that. Now that we can have our stuff on all our devices simultaneously, it’s worth more to us.

But most of all, the trend this year is towardintegration. The winning services have started to think they’ve got the Web’s problems figured out, and they’re trying to build it all in.”
